Educating Your Patients

Promote a fundamental understanding

Patients are given a lot of information when they’re first diagnosed with prostate cancer, as well as during their treatment. In the Prostate Cancer Basics section, patients can read an overview of prostate cancer, its risk factors, its symptoms, and its stages. Patients are also introduced to the notion that while prostate cancer can’t necessarily be prevented, certain risk factors, such as diet, are thought to be manageable.

The Diagnosis, Staging, and Treatment section of teaches patients about the various methods used for diagnosis and staging, as well as available treatments. Patients are taught the importance of tracking their progress and carefully following your instructions during their management of prostate cancer.
